The “burr type” – Taxonomy of a biological process

I do some work with audio on occasion. Something that wasn’t obvious to me when I first started doing this work was the problem of how to properly make your own audio library searchable.

Having a bazillion audio files is all well and good, but useless if you can’t find the sound you’re looking for. ¬†This problem gets worse when you have multiple users accessing¬†and updating the database of sounds.

A consistent taxonomy has to be created to make your library useful.

That usefulness sometimes results in comedy, as in the example of when I found a sample of a door opening that was labeled with:

Sounds like a burr type of fart

Fart taxonomy is a thing.
